Where Is Pub Street?

Pub Street sits right in the heart of Siem Reap’s tourist center, just across the river from the Old Market (Psar Chas). It’s officially known as Street 08, but no one calls it that. It’s walking distance from most central hotels and surrounded by alleyways full of bars, cafés, night markets, and street vendors.

What’s the Vibe Like?

Loud, lively, and packed with travelers—especially after 6 PM. Music pours out of open bars, neon lights bounce off the pavement, and the energy is contagious. During the day it’s more subdued, with shops and restaurants catering to the lunch crowd and early risers.

Expect:

  • A mix of backpackers, expats, families, and tour groups
  • Tuk-tuk drivers offering rides and tours
  • Street performers and vendors adding to the buzz

Top Things to Do on Pub Street

1. Try Local and International Eats

You’ll find everything from Cambodian BBQ and Amok curry to wood-fired pizza and vegan bowls. A few must-tries:

  • Khmer Kitchen Restaurant – casual, consistent, and tasty local food
  • Banlle Vegetarian – serene garden dining just off the strip
  • Cambodian BBQ Restaurant – cook-your-own meats right at the table

2. Grab a 50-Cent Beer (or Fancy Cocktail)

Almost every bar has draft Angkor beer for 50 cents, but if you want something stronger:

  • Miss Wong – chic, Shanghai-style cocktail bar
  • X Bar – rooftop drinks with a skate ramp and pool table
  • Temple Club – iconic for music, dancing, and late-night chaos

3. Enjoy Live Music or Dance the Night Away

Many spots host live bands, DJs, or dance shows. Temple Club and Angkor What? Bar are the two best-known party spots for those who want to dance till late.

Is Pub Street Family-Friendly?

Yes—during the day and early evening. Many restaurants are kid-friendly, and the street itself is walkable with plenty of safe spots to eat. After 9 PM, it leans more toward the nightlife crowd.

Tips for Visiting Pub Street

  • Bring small cash: Most places accept USD, but smaller bills are easiest.
  • Watch your bag: As in any busy nightlife area, keep valuables secure.
  • Try local cocktails: Many bars serve Khmer twists on mojitos and margaritas.
  • Don’t be afraid to wander: Some of the best spots are in the quieter side alleys nearby.

Final Thoughts

Pub Street may not be everyone’s vibe—but if you go in with the right expectations, it can be a fun, flavorful part of your Siem Reap trip. Whether you’re sipping beer, sampling street food, or dancing under the neon lights, it’s a place to let loose and soak in the energy of Cambodia’s most visited town.

We purchased two of these because we loved it so much. We are constantly using our phones, taking photos and videos while we travel, and never want to run out of charge. These portable chargers keep our phones fully charged at all times!

Disposable Hotel Slippers

We love hotel slippers, and some hotels give them and some do not, so we like to be prepared. Plus, the best part is, we can throw them out when we leave the hotel and make our suitcase lighter instead of carrying traditional bedroom slippers that we use at home.
