Why We Said No to the Big Bus

We love a good overview tour—but in Dubai, the big red hop-on-hop-off buses felt… limiting. They were slow in traffic, packed in the afternoon, and missed some of the most charming corners of the city. So we skipped it.

Instead, we built our own self-guided sightseeing route—and honestly, it was better. Cheaper, more flexible, and way more fun. Here’s exactly how we did it.

1. 🚇 The Dubai Metro: Fast, Clean & Scenic

Why We Used It:
The Metro links nearly all major sights—and it’s air-conditioned, affordable, and runs every few minutes. 2. 🛶 The Abra: Old Dubai’s Water Taxi

Why We Loved It:

Tour buses have their place, but in Dubai, your own two feet (and a Nol card) can take you so much further. With a little prep and the right transit combo, you’ll see more, spend less, and stumble on experiences the big tours don’t even touch.
